WELCOME!

This work is the modification of lecture notes from the teaching series of Mr. K. Allen Orr presented at Girard Alliance Church, Girard, Pennsylvania. It is important to read the chapters in proper succession just as you would a regular book since new chapters build on foundations established in previous ones. Efforts are underway to add additional features so be sure to come back often!

Prior to any Bible study session a Christian should acknowledge known sins to the Father according to the principle taught in 1 John 1:9, to allow for fellowship with and the filling of the indwelling Holy Spirit. One of the many ministries of the Spirit is enabling the believer to accurately perceive biblical truth.

But a natural man (an unbeliever) does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. (I Cor. 2:14 NASB)

If you are not “born again”, if you have not embraced the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, the issue for you is not naming individual sins but understanding your need for forgiveness and expressing faith in Jesus Christ for salvation and eternal life.

But as many as received him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, even to those who believe in His name…(John 1:12 NASB)

Have you ever wondered, how it can be that different Bible scholars studying the same subject, each one praying for insight and wisdom, asking God to open their spiritual eyes and hearts to the truth of His holy Word, but present individual conclusions for review that are discovered to be contradictory to each other? Well I have too!

What do you suppose could cause distinctly different conclusions among well intended, godly teachers and scholars? And perhaps more importantly, how do we discover real truth? This work is somewhat of a journal of my quest to find the answer to these perplexing questions, especially pertaining to conclusions regarding the biblical subject of the Second Coming of Christ. It’s almost a documentary of my journey to discover the truth of what the Bible really teaches about pivotal issues surrounding His return. It’s a commentary as well and for some, may be a little technical in places. A general familiarity with the Word of God is helpful in order to follow the development of viewpoints that emerge from the study.

Using the “Glossary of Eschatological Terms” providing my definitions will assist you and should be referred to as necessary. After that, start with Chapter 1 to begin your journey. Please note all scripture quotations are in red regardless of who is speaking and originate from the “New American Standard Bible”. Be sure to read each chapter in order; don’t skip around because new points build upon previously established points. Treat this work like a book that is best understood when read from start…to finish. I pray you will have a blessed journey!
